Tonight I went to see Ben Folds at the Beasley Coliseum with my roommate Hillary. The opening act was Ben Lee. He came on stage 20 minutes early without realizing it. We got to hear extra long music. The down side was that most of his songs I didnt really care for. He is a very charismatic performer though. He made up songs on the spot, had an audience member come play his guitar and make up music while he made up a song. He did a lot of audience participation songs too.
Then Ben Folds came out to play. I dont really know much of thier music but Hill had an extra ticket and really wanted me to go. Toward the end he surprisingly had Moby come out on stage and play with him for a bit. It was a pretty good concert. I think most of his songs are really great in a live performance but not so much what i want to listen to in the car. At one point poor Hill was crying because she was supposed to go with a stupid boy who had to cancel at the last minute. I guess it was thier favorite song. I have to admit I was teary eyed during the song before I even looked at her and noticed she was crying. I have no memories tied to the song but it was just one of those songs that hits ya. I of course had a headache by the time it was over but it was fun. First concert I have ever been to though where they didnt come back out for an encore. Kind of sucky but I was readly to leave anyway.
Five more days until I can move into my apartment!! Yeah for me. I cant wait to get all my treasures out of storage. Work is a total pain in the butt right now. We have inventory on thursday so there is nothing for us to do. All of our stock in the back room has been pre-counted or arranged in a special way for the inventory people to count so we cant touch any of it. At least in my department. On inventory day we stand around doing nothing waiting for an inventory person to need a sku for an item. They always do apparel last so we really get to do nothing all day.
Tomorrow I am going to see Stop Loss with Hillary and then go on a random road trip with Benjamin. That is about the extent of my exciting life this week.

That was definitly not Moby. I'm guessing that he noticed a short, bald, white dude working at Beasley and had him come on to screw with the audience. This is a guy who called his trio the Ben Folds Five, so humor is definitly in his repertoire. Ben did have me going for awhile with that one, but then I thought why the hell would Moby be in Pullman when he could be canoeing in Fairfield, Iowa with David Lynch.
I love ya sis! I am so excited for your move!
