Peeps roasting on an open fire....

Peep being toasted for smores.
Innocent peep about to meet its demise.

Palouse falls where we camped.
This weekend I camped with Britney and Renee at Palouse falls. It was lots of fun. I took them hiking on the most convaluted path ever. We almost got hit by a train twice within 15 minutes of each other. I ran into a den of Gardener snakes. Britney found the biggest spider known to man. We walked along a cliff for about half a mile. I should say I walked and the other two crawled a good portion of it. Artemis was a great little adventurer. We had smores, steak, hotdogs and wine. It only rained a little bit.
Jacob is over on the coast for nine days. It is going to be a very long week. I miss him lots.

I have become one of those dog owners I swore I never would be.

I went to the scrapbook store and it happened to be Mothers weekend for WSU. There was a photographer taking pictures of mothers and daughters. I had Artemis in the car so I decided to get our picture taken together. She is do darn cute!!!

Easter is here!

Artemis' puppy tooth.

Artemis in her Easter cape.
She is still so tiny.
Not too much going on lately. Artemis is losing her baby teeth. We were playing and one of her bigger ones fell out into my hand. It freaked me out a little. There was a lot of blood. She seemed totally fine though. She loves her new Easter cape. Everyone needs to be dressed in their best on Easter Sunday.
Work is going well. Its super busy and stressful but I am loving it. I am exhausted by Friday though. I got supoeaned at work to appear in court for an accident case last week. It settled out of court this week though so I dont have to go. I was kinda looking forward to it. Oh well.
I get to go over to Olympia in a few weeks and see the family. I am very excited. I miss them so much. Jacob will be in Brinnon on his week vacation so he will be coming down to meet the family at some point.
We went to the Good Friday service last night at church. It was nice but I bawled of course. We had to sing How Great thou Art which reminds me of my grandma. Plus just church and Easter in general reminds me of my grandparents. It was a rough night. Jacob is really good though about holding me through my meltdowns.
Hmm...what else have I done lately? We attended Swing out Nowhere here in Moscow. They had two live big bands and two sets of professional teachers come in for the weekend. There was a dance Friday and Saturday night. During the day Saturday and Sunday they had all kinds of workshops. Jacob took the more advanced ones and I took the beginning ones. We both learned a 40's line/group dance too. It was lots of fun.
I invited a bunch of people over to Jacobs to decorate Easter eggs. His parents always put candy in plastic eggs and hid them. He had never dyed eggs before. It was fun watching him play around and experiment with the dyes.
I guess that is it for now. I need to finish catching up on laundry, clean my room, and go through my storage unit. Fun stuff. : )

Super Puppy

Artemis in her blanket made by nana.
She loves peanut butter and jelly sandwiches just like her mama.

Super puppy St. Patricks Day cape.

Super Artemis cape.
Artemis is getting to be a big girl. She is twice the size she was when I got her. She now weighs a whole 4 pounds. Sadly when we got back from Brinnon, I found a tick on her. I think Jacob was the most traumatized by the removal process. He had to hold her down and she squealed like she was being killed. It was horrible but I had the "tough mom" attitude that it had to be done for her health. It didnt bother me as much. He felt soooo bad. She is going in to get fixed next month. She has become really spoiled and I often make her PB&J sandwiches for lunch.
Work is good. Its super busy and stresssful. Its a good stress though. I secured an apartment for next summer when my lease is up here. Its a tiny one bedroom with lovely 70's colors. Orange carpet, yellow tub and kitchen. It will be so nice to have a place to myself where I can let Artemis have free run. Plus it has a huge fenced in yard she can play in. Its in an old house so there is a huge front porch and a tiny little deck off the back for just me. I am super excited to move in. Too bad I have to wait until August.

Yeah for blue herons
The view before the storm front came all the way in. Dosewallips river.

Artemis and I on our hike.

Rocky Brook Falls where Jacob was baptised.

Rocky Brook.
My meeting Jacob's parents went really well. They were super friendly and made me feel right at home. The town where Jacob grew up is beautiful. We spent most of Saturday hiking by the falls. We found some great spots for climbing that we are going to develop. He showed be all around town and introduced me to some friends. We were in bed early and up super early every day. It was really nice seeing all the places and people he has told me about.
For the record (which appears to be broken since I have said this before several times) I am not embarrassed to bring him home to meet my family. We were not ready before now to do the whole "meet the parents" thing. I will not be guilted, tricked, bullied, or rushed into moving my relationship along any faster than I want to. So there. You will all get to meet him soon enough.

Meet the Parents

Jacob and I were going to go to Portland this weekend for the Lindy exchange. Then he decided he didnt want to go. So I was going to go to Olympia and stay with Sissy for the weekend. I invited him to come along. Then both the boys came down with Mono. Now we are going to stay in his hometown for the weekend. Scary Scary Scary. I am not sure I am fully prepared for the whole "meet the parents" weekend.

Not much else is new. My new job is kicking my butt. I had to work from 5 am to 2pm m-th to reset the entire shampoo aisle. It put me behind on everything else. Plus the overnight crew keeps leaving me carts and pallets full of freight to deal with. They are supposed to have it all labeled and binned before they go. I keep forgetting to sign my orders between 1-2 so I have to reorder everday. The day flys by though. And its challenging which is nice. I am determined to get caught up and stay on top of things. In three weeks when I am done setting my deoderant wall and shaver wall anyway. At least I have two associates in my area to help. One is really really good. The other girl just started and has only worked one day that I am aware of. I will have her working her booty off in no time! :)

Crack climbing

Poor Artemis was too little to get her rope unstuck from the littlest bunches of dried grass. It was so funny.
Repelling down. That is my least favorite part.

Climbing up an fairly easy part.

Almost to the top!!

7 months and counting!! :)
Jacob, his roommmate Alex, and I went rock climbing this weekend. I did so good!! I didnt need to be hoisted up once. It was lots of fun. The weather was perfect for it. I tied Artemis to a tree with a 50 ft rope. She had the best time running all over the place. She was on the move the whole three hours we were there. She slept for the rest of the day straight through until the next morning. The poor thing kept getting her rope caught. We were cracking up. She would get so upset when I climbed up and she couldnt get to me. Icant wait until its warmer and see how she takes to the water.
Sunday we went to church and then Jacob made spaghettti. It was for the group dinner but also its my favorite and it was our seven month mark.
