2 Ben's and a Moby

Tonight I went to see Ben Folds at the Beasley Coliseum with my roommate Hillary. The opening act was Ben Lee. He came on stage 20 minutes early without realizing it. We got to hear extra long music. The down side was that most of his songs I didnt really care for. He is a very charismatic performer though. He made up songs on the spot, had an audience member come play his guitar and make up music while he made up a song. He did a lot of audience participation songs too.

Then Ben Folds came out to play. I dont really know much of thier music but Hill had an extra ticket and really wanted me to go. Toward the end he surprisingly had Moby come out on stage and play with him for a bit. It was a pretty good concert. I think most of his songs are really great in a live performance but not so much what i want to listen to in the car. At one point poor Hill was crying because she was supposed to go with a stupid boy who had to cancel at the last minute. I guess it was thier favorite song. I have to admit I was teary eyed during the song before I even looked at her and noticed she was crying. I have no memories tied to the song but it was just one of those songs that hits ya. I of course had a headache by the time it was over but it was fun. First concert I have ever been to though where they didnt come back out for an encore. Kind of sucky but I was readly to leave anyway.

Five more days until I can move into my apartment!! Yeah for me. I cant wait to get all my treasures out of storage. Work is a total pain in the butt right now. We have inventory on thursday so there is nothing for us to do. All of our stock in the back room has been pre-counted or arranged in a special way for the inventory people to count so we cant touch any of it. At least in my department. On inventory day we stand around doing nothing waiting for an inventory person to need a sku for an item. They always do apparel last so we really get to do nothing all day.

Tomorrow I am going to see Stop Loss with Hillary and then go on a random road trip with Benjamin. That is about the extent of my exciting life this week.

Ballerina Girl... aka Elton John is amazing!

I had the privelege of attending the Elton John concert last night in Pullman. It was an amazing show. He has so much energy. He makes the best faces while performing, we were cracking up. The percussionist had a great energy and personality too. The audience was almost as entertaining as Elton. People were dancing in thier seats...little ol grandmas and all the moms up for the weekend. We were behind the stage and fourth row back. We had a perfect view of the whole stage and Elton. We were as close as you could get without being in the front rows. I got lots of great videos and photos!

I am a big girl now!!

I signed a lease for an apartment with my friend Hillary today. Between staying with my sister and working as a live-in nanny for 10 years, it has been forever since I have had to pay rent. We can move in on May 1st. I already have some of my guy friends lined up with thier trucks to help me move my furniture!! Of course I will be providing pizza and beer for thier efforts, but it is nice to have some help.

It is going to be just like Christmas getting all my stuff out of storage and seeing what I have. Some of its been in storage for ages. Moving from the dorms will work perfectly because I will already have my dressers, desk, book shelves and bed set up in my new room. so i can just transfer my stuff without really having to box it all up and put it in storage. hmm I should go back over there and get the measurements of my room so I can plan my furniture arrangement. fun fun fun! I am super excited to get my scrapbook stuff back out!

Snow snow go away

I am done with this wierd weather. Snowing,, hailing, raining intermitently. What a pain. Anyway, last weekend was fun. I played paintball with Trevor, Corey, and Jason. Thier girlfriends were all supposed to be there but none came. It was a little awkward being the only girl but I had fun anyway. We ran around the woods on Moscow mountain. I was dirty and sore by the time we were done but I think they want to start playing every sunday.

Mom made it through her surgery. She is resting in ICU for now. I think she should be moved to a regular room today or tomorrow. I will probably go see her on Friday.

The apartment search is a pain in the butt. We think we found one that is affordable and that we could tolerate. Its kinda dirty and smelly though. The girls are going back today because Becky was in Boise when Hill and I looked at it. We will see. I just want to have a place already. I hate having things unsettled.

I am super excited for the Elton John concert this weekend!! I will be taking lots of pictures!

Ok... so I just got off the phone with Hillary. Apparently Becky has decided she wants a one bedroom because she will be here forever and wants something more permanent. Now Hill and I are looking at two bedrooms. She is not sure how long she will be staying here as she has no job lined up yet. This could be interesting. I may get a two bedroom to myself after all!!

Weekend Update

So far my weekend has started out well. Trevor took me to dinner at Casa Lopez to make up for ignoring me for the last month. I wasn't really that upset seeing as he has a girlfriend and is in love and all that mushy crap now. But it was nice of him to do, and I really enjoyed getting to catch up with him.

The girls and I watched another ridiculously stupid movie tonight. It was about a stoner chick. I think it was called Smiley. We really need to schedule one of our dress up movie nights and quit watching this other crap.

Tomorrow I am looking at some townhouses with the girls I will be living with starting this summer. Hopefully we can find a place that is ready now, so I dont have to take a Leave of Absence from work until I have a home.

Sunday Trevor, his girlfriend Emma, myself, and a bunch of his other friends are playing paintball in the woods near Troy. Should be fun. I havent played in years. Although if it keeps snowing it might be canceled. I am not sure how I feel about running around in the snow. I am allergic to the cold.

Well I am off to bed. I have to be up in a couple of hours for work.

I am Chlamydia Free!

Today in bio lab we simulated STD transmission. Everyone started with a test tube of water. One person had "Chlamydia" in thier tube. The professor put on "mood music", and when it stopped we had to take a dropper of our water and exchange it with someone else. It was like musical bed hopping. We did it three times, taking note of the # on the test tube of everyone we "slept" with. Then we put drops of a solution in our tubes. If it turned pink you had chlamydia.

There were six people infected. We made a chart with their test tube # and the #'s of who they slept with. We then had to figure out who had the original infected tube. It was a half hour of double entendres, puns, and dirty jokes. I love college!!

I get to go to the Elton John concert next weekend. Hillary's mom cant come down for it because they are preparing to move to Wyoming, so she is selling me her ticket! I am so excited. I am not a huge concert fan, but Elton John is a legend.

I picked up my Girl Scout Cookies today and then went to Paper Pals in Pullman. Where I discovered my family had time to stop by and visit but did not have time to see me. In fact, they couldnt even give me a phone call to confirm that they were still coming down to get Alex's car so that I could meet them there. Which would have been nice since I havent seen my brother since forever. But at least I know where I stand in line of importance for people to visit.
